I have almost finished my double wedding ring quilt for my grandmother it is a lap quilt anything bigger she would use as art. My question is I want to make it longer not wider. I thought maybe using the border fabric in a piano key border with a solid chocolate brown. Here is the catch I want to make the top and bottom border total 8" so it would be 4" top and bottom and 2" sides. What do you think?? I have been busy the last 2 days.

I think I would use the some of the black and do a really narrow border then use the black and white.

I agree with Kitsapquilter. She has a way of making quilt tops come together very nicely.

I would make a 2.5" black first border and a 5" dark gold border to set it all off!

This is what I ended up doing! I used your ideas and then made a calculation error and added another brown border to the top and bottom I will bind it with the brown and I LOVE this alot!!!
