    I would put a narrow black border on the outside of the braid like the one on the inside of the braid.

    I would put a black binding on the braid.

    Because it would pick up the black of the ladybugs in the center, and the black in the braid.

    Depends on how big you want it to be and how much fabric you have available.

    I think repeating the smaller black border next to the braid and then the light green lady bug fabric the same size of the braid would lighten it up. Then bind with the dark fabric.

    I would put pale green corner stones & just add the braid to the top & bottom, binding it in the red as you'd planned. Beautiful quilt, love ladybugs!

    Sounds you have some great ideas from everyone. The quilt is quite cute.
