I love the log cabin the best. The first one has the block too large with too much red and it looks regimented. The second Looks like a snake with red eyes glaring at you.
But, mostly because I love the log blocks and how they can be set into so many designs.

Edited to say .. I should have read through the thread before posting! I like what you did with number one changing it up was very nice! I like it now.

I'm different, I vote for 2 and 3. Love the movement in 2. Great job.

OK, you didn't tell us it's for a friend, I don't think. What kind of art work or quilts do you think she likes or would like & where would she put it & what would she do with it? If she lives close by, suggest she come over to see what she likes. You can fudge & say you're just playing around or that it's for a special occasion. I don't mean to be deceitful; however, when you plan a surprise, don't tell the person or it will ruin it for them & you. I know she will love any of them. Which one reminds you the most of her personality. Quilts in my opinion can take on personalities, also. Name the Quilt after her on your quilt label. That would make her feel special & she'll have all the info on the label. I have a feeling this quilt will be around for a long time. Those colors are one of my favorite color combos.

I'm a sucker for the cabin so It's #3 for me but I like the redesign of # 1 also. All of them are great, they are all winners.

Ok, better late then never, I love the log cabin and the last one you posted. I too am partial to log cabin. I am doing the black and white brick swap and I am going to do the red as highlights. Let us know which one you choose..
