I'm so pleased with the result of my experiment I had to share with y'all! I wanted to make my niece a quilt. After 2 years, we settled on blue and white. I stumbled upon the tutorial on pineapple log cabin and started playing today. I am so excited to finish! It's going to be beautiful, I think!

well, how odd that we would both be working on the same pattern. my block is a 12 inch square, there are 20 in all, 4 across and five down, then the borders, i'll post again when i get mine finished too.

Well, if your niece should decide it just isn't quite right for her, I'll PM you my snail mail address & send postage too!! Blue is my favorite color & the pineapple block is terrific! Can hardly wait to see it finished :D:D

Thanks everyone! I really didn't know how big the blocks would be when I started. They are averaging 18" (lol). Since it is my first attempt, I am not sure about the seams matching, so if they are noticably off, I may end up sashing the blocks. I know that would take away from the effect, but I want the quilt to be pretty. What do y'all think?

Since I'm pretty new to quilting, I don't know an answer to your question, but the quilt is going to be beautiful! I love this block.
