I LOVE the fabrics & color combos, but guess I'm a bit more traditional. I'd do complete green/blue and purple /orange blocks & then alternate in quilt to bring out the churn dash pattern. I worry what the focus will be when the blocks are side by side or are you going to have sashing in-between?

I love the batiks. Very nice fabrics.
My initial thought when seeing the test block was that all the fabrics pictured within the block seem to have the same tone value. By that I mean, not enough difference between the lights and darks. You can see this much easier, if you take your picture and change it to a gray scale image. You'll see little or no difference in the gray throughout the entire block and the fabrics just merge together, which loses the block pattern.
Please don't take this the wrong way. This is my own personal opinion and meant only to provide some constructive ideas/thoughts. The quilt is yours and should reflect your own tastes and will look nice the way you've planned it. But I think the addition of either some really light or really dark fabrics with the fabrics you've chosen may look even better.
