Here is a quilt I am working on for my niece.

The middle part was gifted to my by my aunt it was a baby quilt.
Since I dont know any babies I made the quilt bigger for my 4 year old niece

I am hand quilting some but I think I will be doing machine quilting the rest as her birthday is in October and I want it to be done

This is really my first quilt.
I have pieced and made pillows and simple stuff but never a quilt
So this is a learning experience

    here is the quilt

Thank you everyone. I have really enjoyed working on this quilt.
I am changing the hand quilting part though I am going to redo it in purple thread to stand against the yellow. I think it will be really cute.

I am also going to take it with me to the LQS on Sat they are having a sewing party so I will be able to get some help on machine quilting as I have never done it before

    Thanks for all the compliments

Sweet! I love the fabrics and I love yellow too. I put it in my first quilt, then I read in quite a few quilt books that it is best to "avoid" yellow. O well I love it and I love yours, your neice will really like it.
    Great work!

Thank you everyone I was so nervous on posting it

I have changed the hand quilted part in the yellow blocks to a purple thread it looks really good
I think I am going to outline the flower/ butterfly blocks on the machine

I am so ready to get it done. I spray basted and it is coming undone and my last hand quilted part now has a pucker so thats disappointing
But I am going to keep at it

    Thank you again everyone
