So DGD (13) is here for the day and a sleepover. She sewed some unused jelly roll strips together and here is what she made... Pretty clever I would say. Her first apparel creation. I had nothing to do with this.

The dress is awesome, but I'm looking at your sewing kingdom (Queendom?) and going, "WOW!" It's in your basement? We don't have basements here on the Gulf Coast. When my daughter lived in Northern Virginia it amazed us that what appeared to be a small house had a whole other space below ground. Isn't it funny what we accept as the norm?

Dress - cool. Sewing Queendom - WOW!

She did a great job Grann. I love the border she put at the bottom. Has she modeled it for you yet? Please tell her we all love it!

Yes, that is my basement; it is my lifelong dream. My husband wouldn't let me have a sewing studio, so after he passed away and I moved to a smaller house, I made sure I got my sewing studio. I have posted pics of it before.

I think your DGD is going to be quite the seamstress in her time. You have obviously passed on your own creative genes to her. I know you must be so darn proud of her!

And I third the greatness of your sewing space. Very ingenious cutting tables and so cost effective. Wonderful!!

Yes, she just took it off. We don't like posting pics of the kids so that is why "Martha" is wearing it.

WOW! What a great idea and great talent she has. She must get it from Grandma!
I love the sewing room. I bet I would get more done in a room like that!
No basements here on the coast of Florida so I have stuff all over the house and put it away when company comes! Not near as fun as having that room dedicated to sewing.
