Looking good. I don't think there is a bad layout for the NYB. I like your background. It makes them pop without being black.

I prefer when there aren't many whole circles, but a 3/4 and at the last 1/4 the arcs are facing out and joining up w/ 2 or 3 from another partial circle. There's more movement that way and your eyes just keep bouncing all around the whole quilt, discovering new color combos along the way.

Colors are beautiful and both layouts look good but I think #1 is the traditional layout for a true New York Beauty.
