I have a large collection of mens plaid shirts, this would be a great pattern to use! Hope you dont mind if I make one like it.

I have never seen this pattern. It is a wonderful quilt and manly. I have always liked flannel plaids in a quilt, but don't see it often enough. You did a wonderful job and can hardly wait to see the completed quilt.

The Pattern is called "Twist & Shout" and was in the Quiltmaker Jan/Feb -06 issue. I too live in Michigan and just finnished this for my husband! There is a different set of blocks to use for making a baby sized quilt.

What a great job you did in the color and fabric texture choices. It has two feels to it...first, manly second, log cabin chic...LOL flannel sheets and it would right at home in N. Mich.

That's really neat. So is the second pic. laying from top to bottom?

the second pic i simply walked over to the side of the bed- i had the strips laid out lengthwise on the bed (i have a queen-it's closer to a king-)but the rows are supposed to be horizontal..so thought i would show that direction- after i had (thoughtlessly) taken the pic in the incorrect direction
