Okay ladies. Here is part two of the sewing room renovation! I have been soooo anxious to see this. Some of my machines lined up on the counter...lol Course they are getting ready to be put back up, we had to set them up there to cut the holes in the counter. Why holes in the counter? Because I hate threads all over the floor. I've had to deal with that forever. And this will take care of that. Where the holes are cut, there will be those plastic shopping bags hung so that while sewing all my little snippets will go down the hole into the bag. When done I can just remove the bag and throw it into the trash! Yeah!!!! I know cabinets can't be built like this in the stores because they have no idea where you would be sitting your machines and what size they are. But when you have your DH doing the work, you can do it like this.lol This is just one of several ideas I plan to be putting in this room to make my life easier.lol

My sewing cabinet has a slide out with a hole just like your new space. Just brush the threads into the bag and throw them away.

that's a cute idea. I use an empty butter tub for my threads. :) Looks really nice! What a handy DH

I would drop quilt pieces, seam rippers, pins, scissors and everything else down there! It seems that is my 'catch-all' place when I sew! ROFL
