Default Non traditional log cabin

I originally bought the "Montana Modern" quilt by Benartex and made a lap quilt for my dad. For the last year I have thought of making my oldest son, (14), a quilt but was unsure what he would like. About a month ago he told me he would love a quilt with lots of animals and it clicked. I could use the Montana Modern pattern but use completely different fabric, different panel, and scale it up for a full size quilt. So I used that pattern as the base but changed it quite a bit too. I used flannel for the backing knowing he would like the softness. I decided to just SID and then tie the centers. Usually I love to FMQ but I couldn't come up with a motif I liked for this quilt. I just finished it last night at 1130. One day to spare. Thank you for looking.

It's a great quilt for your son. Nicely done and I like your color selection.
