Default Not exactly a fabric box - fabric breadbasket

member Retired Fire Chief suggested that my 'unbuttoned' fabric box might make a good breadbasket
http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ml#post6349917
So I put together one using a very stiff batting, 12.5" squares, and 1.75" corner triangles. It is very stiff and would be easy to pass at the table. This is the result.

Very cute! I also see this with gift soaps, washcloths & handtowels in the guest bath, or as a gift box filled with things that interest the receiver such as a couple of moves, popcorn packages & boxes of candy, or something for a senior such as gift cards to restaurants, some packaged stamps, a couple of movies, etc. I've made the folded down box, will have to try your version as its really nice.

How good is that.

I am going to try the iron interfacing on my next one to make the sides more rigid.

I am loving all the fabric boxes I have been seeing on here the past week. I like your variation of leaving the sides up and see the potential for all sorts of uses for these new creations. Keep the pictures coming everyone, they are all so much fun to see!

Love your basket, I spent about an hr. trying to find 4 matching buttons to put on my basket ,but, to no avail
like the idea of a bread basket with the flaps up will try a slice to see if it works for me. I intend to make some
more as I am making items for my church fair this yr. and our quilt show in March of 2014. will post when I
get more made.
