I remember when you posted this - because it was SO striking....i loved it. I don't know how you could even sit still long enough to type your thread or upload the photos ... you must be SO proud !! Your son deserves SERIOUS kudos for such great work and for the courage to submit it for "judging". CONGRATULATIONS TO HIM !!!!!! Given how well he did on this one - and the reward for his hard work - i expect we will be seeing more of his projects in the future. I already said it - but i love this quilt !!!

I know well the fair in Rhinebeck. I lived in Clinton Corners and won several blue ribbons at the fair. Your son did a beautiful job. Congratulations.

He did a great job! He has a wonderful quilting life ahead of him. We can always say "I saw pictures of his first quilt." He has the bug now -- it will be fun to see his next project.

Beautiful! I used to go with family to the Dutchess County Fair as a child! Thank you for sharing the quilt and ribbons, and for bringing back memories!

The apple might not fall too far from the tree! Wonderful work, so glad you posted the ribbons because we got to really really check out those points! They are spot on. A major part of quilting is engineering! Takes a certain talent to put all the various aspects of piecing together and come out with --- well shall we say a winner! Ribbons say it all!
