You don't sew the six pieces of the hexagon together, only three to make half of the hexagon....so you can sew the half hexagons in strips together. hope that makes sense. I bought the book from Maxine Rosenthal "One-Block Wonders: One Fabric, One Shape, One-of-a-Kind Quilts" and that helped me a lot.
