Default october Sky

This is "October Sky" quilt design by Cathy Wierzbicki. I originally bought the pattern years ago to make a quilt for my brother but he mentioned he liked bears so made him a quilt from a bear panel. I have made a quilt each year for 5 years now that is given away at the National Night Out celebration. This is this years donation.

Beautiful. What is the National Night Out celebration? I am sure that they appreciate what you donate. BrendaK

it is National night set aside as first Tuesday of August. you meet with the others on your block or immediate neighborhood. often Police and fire representatives come to talk with you as well as local politicians. A way to get to know those in your neighborhood and hopefully cut down those crimes that may be curtailed by being aware of who belongs in your neighborhood. Ifyou know your neighbors you are more apt to watch for suspicious behavior by strangers

Really like the yellow and purple contrast.

I like that pattern and the colors in your version really look good. I might just have to get this one and try it. I'm sure it is too late to get the geese, but I am sure I can find something to applique in those blocks. Thanks for the inspiration.

What a lovely piece. Your colors captured October at least in my "neck of the woods" with golds and browns, geese heading south and the beautiful high blue sky.

Your quilt is very striking with the geese blocks among the other pieced blocks. Sure to be appreciated.

That is huge! What a lot of work it must have been - it turned out beautifully.
