You have to have that matted and framed so that you can keep that for ever! The matting will keep the picture off the glass, and try to get UV glass! It might be a little more expensive, however in my opinion it IS worth the extra few bucks!

What a treasure and I would definitely frame it and hang it in your sewing room. Also the family should save all his drawings and make a quilt out of them.
