Just finished this for a neighbor who is going in for surgery this week - her dinning room is red and white with lots of antiques. Was looking for something traditional. I started with an Elanor Burns "Night and Day" which was stunning but I thought it was too modern. Put that back in the stash for later use (lol). So I started again and did these Ohio Stars with 9 Patch corners.

Thanks all for the kind words. I am very pleased with it!! I machine quilted the white and with hand quilting did an outline stitch 1/4 inch in on the red. This is the first thing that I have left spots unquilted on the LA and found the stars were "puffier" than I liked, but overall it came out square (lol).

Her walls are stark white, white china and red and/or red and white accents. I do hope she likes it - she has spent the last 5 mo doing Chemo and is very upbeat about the surgery (more than I would be!!) I admire her attitude. It is just something small to let her know I care.

    I really like that.
Gives me ideas, is it okay to borrow your idea for one of my own in different colors?

Gorgeous, classic, stunning. An appraiser just told me that red and white quilts sell better than any other combination, followed by blue and white quilts. I know yours would sell in a skinny minute!
