It's all one quilt, the top has 3 borders the middle one is white that's what you're seeing on the edge of the 1st picture
you can see it in the 2nd & 3rd picture.

Both, the hand-guided is with a Lazar light.

I am new to this board, and to quilting. I hope this is the right place to ask for help! I am trying to make my second quilt. The pattern is Ohio Star, but I am having trouble getting the pieces to line up. I am using a quarter inch seam. Am I right in thinking that I need to make the points on the stars by sewing two squares crosswise and cutting them apart, opening the new square and sewing the squares in rows to form the pattern?
