SteveH..So great your work here with the machines!! and now Your Mom's wonderful quilts!! I did hand quilting for a long time. not piecing, but I could do them better by hand than by the machine.. then I got a quilter(not long arm wish it was) and frame because it took me several years to get a quilt finished and I can do them much faster!
I love your posts on the vintage machines..I have FW, 401, and a treadle, singer.my grandmother owned.she was going to buy a new machine from a traveling salesman (1920's) but could not afford the .25 a month payments and the salesman felt so bad when he had to repo. the new machine so he gave her this old one it has not been used for awhile and is needing cleaning etc. I love it!!

Treasures to be treated as such. Beautiful work, I just can't seem to do the hand piecing and get it straight. Even tried marking the quarter inch seams. Took waaaaaaaaaay too much time and effort. I applaud her work. Its lovely

Hi Carole, and welcome. As everybody has been saying, all your quilts are beautiful. Everyone keeps talking about your Log Cabin (which is breathtaking) but I have to admit the ones that caught my eye are the twin quilts. I love the vintage look and simplicity of them. I remember most of the fabrics in them, especially the setting squares! What great eye candy. Hope you will stay with us here and post more pix when you can. Jan

Absolutely beautiful quilt! My favorite is 8 Point Star. The colors go together so well. When I first started quilting I pieced and quilted by hand but never piece by hand now. The quilt I just finished I hamd quilted and really enjoyed doing it.
