I've finished the top for my mother's christmas present and am now trying to figure out how to quilt it. I was thinking about feather hearts over the flower blocks with vines running through the sashes? Any ideas out there?
    Thanks!!

I like your vines idea! It's so pretty. Isn't it amazing what color in a quilt will do?

Vines and leaves would enhance it's organic qualities. Very pretty! The borders are perfect for it.

Love your quilt! What a great pattern. Love the way the white sets off the bright colors of the flowers. As for the quilting, I like your idea of heart feathers and vines. Look forward to seeing another pic once the quilting is finished.

From isewman1-Don... I my self being a hand quilter, I would suggest maybe a template that pretty well take and cover's the majoriy of the quilt.. Or what I'm doing on the quilt I'm hand quilting now is to hand quilt each peice of the block. Squares, triangles, etc,etc....

Yes. That sounds wonderful. Be sure to send some close ups when you get the stitching done. I love looking at other people's handi-work.

I will definitely post when finished. Thanks for all the suggestions. I love the piecing part of quilting, but am still learning how to do the quilting part! It certainly gets easier with practice, so I guess I'll have to keep working at it. It's just hard to be brave and try new things on something that you're making for someone special.

Love the colors. Leaves and vines would look wonderful, of course, I am a big fan of feathers, too! I think whatever you choose will look great. I guess I'm no help, sorry. Can't wait to see it finished!
