This was in the back of my great grandmothers treadle machine drawer. It is dated 1914. I just think its so fun!!

Wonderful treasure you found! When Grandma gave me her sewing machine there were all sorts of things in the bench. Some things I can use and some are sitting on a shelf. when I look at them I think of her since she's the one who taught me to quilt. :-)

That is such a wonderful treasure to find from so many years ago that was back in horse and buggies time. We may have to go back to that with gas prices the way they are.

I inherited my grandmother's sewing and knitting things. She was a Depression era teen and young adult, very frugal. I like to use the small segments of binding and elastic she saved whenever I can, even just for hanging loops in clothes. There's a bone bodkin I use every time I sew to sweep the bobbin thread up and back, a magnifying glass that's so handy, and buttons to last me until I die. She taught me to sew and her things are my treasures.

Nice find. If there are needles in the case, they will be the best needles you've ever owned. Quality is hard to find these days.
