Looks like a nine patch with snowball corners coordinated to go with matching block.

The quilt book 5,500 quilt patterns is great they have the patterns listed with all the variations and different names listed for each pattern. I found a pattern that I had been looking for,for a long time in that book.

Hi, Have found it. It is an English paper peicing pattern done with Honeycombs. thank you all for your post. Have a blessed Year. P.S. My 11 year old just finished her first quilt today. It was a simple pattern. Her grandmother teaches quilt classes in New Mexico.Maybe it runs in the family.LOL

Congratulations. It's always rewarding when a child shows interest in a family hobby..especially sewing, needle arts, fiber arts and quilting :D

oksewglad I think you're right, because I found the Kansas Dugout in a 1988 QUILT magazine. Prissy the pattern in this magazine is made with templates. PM me if you're interested.
