Default One middle layer of flannel rag quilt pic please

I am making a rag quilt for my assistant as a Christmas present. The bottom and top fabrics are cotton. I do like the fluffy look of using 2 -3 layers of flannel in the middle but it’s hot California and I don’t want to make it too warm so I was thinking of no more than 2 layersforthe middle . but am wondering how would one layer would rag? Ant pictures? Thanks

I live in IL and I have given rag quilts to a few people. I only use 2 flannels--top/bottom.

I have made several rag quilts using cotton for the top and bottom and one layer of flannel in the middle. I really like the way it ragged. Here's a picture of one of them.

Thank-you for posting a picture! One layer flannel in the middle is the way I will go with this rag quilt. I will post once it’s done probably in a couple of months as I can only work on it during weekends.

I use two flannel and one batting but you cut the battin squares one inch smaller that the flannel, you dont rag the batting
That being said, you could just do one layer of cotton and flannel back and it would sefinitely be lighter.
