Each quilt has its own story and character. So lovely!

Margpj - I got the longarm in December.

Amma and Janstar - yes, it was fun. I am enjoying my new toy.

ljsunflower - I did everything freehand. See initial description for the type of quilting (feathers, McTavishing, etc.)

dakotamaid - how lucky for you to find that box of quilt tops. I would not have purchased this one if I had seen it at a garage sale, even for 50 cents, but now that I know how quilting can change a top I will look at them differently in the future. I think my friend initially intended to give this quilt to charity after it was quilted, but after she sees it - who knows? I would be just as pleased if she decides to keep it.

To all - I think what saves this quilt is that the quilter (whoever she was) chose her fabrics well.

You did a wonderful job on that. It may have been a disaster before, but you turned it into a beauty. Great job.

Dunster, it looks like you are taking to LAing like a duck takes to water. Do we have another green fairy on our hands?

When you say you did the feathers free hand does that mean you didn't even mark the design, just had at it with the machine and no marking?

Thank you, but I didn't mark the design mostly because I still have a lot of trouble following lines. I'm going to have to practice that part - a lot!
