It is a screwdriver specifically for your needle. The needle screw has a small hole in it so the screwdriver sets in solid for you to tighten the screw. I loved that little thing when I had my Bernina. I gave it to a friend that sews and her machine had died and could not be fixed. She is a single Mother with children and sews for all of them and her home. She needed it and I had other machines. So it went to a very good home.

For your needle. It's the best little tool since sliced bread. (Sliced bread is a tool??) It works so well; don't let it get lost! (Like I did mine!)

Another idea for a box is to check out all the divided boxes, etc. that are in the fishing equipment stores. That's what I used for all my tools, the one I have has moveable dividers to customize the interior. Also cheaper than the "specialized" ones at Joann's, etc. Just one solution.

That black gizmo is to tighten and loosen the screw that holds you needle in.

I think it's a screwdriver....regular head type (not philips type)...I have the exact same thing for my vintage Bernina, too.

The black thing in the middle is used to loosen the needle and or change the needle! I have a Bernina just like this with all the feet. And I love it
