This is just a lovely quilt--I'm tempted to try it in my Civil War fabrics. You did a nice job of the quilting, too. Thanks for sharing the photos.

The quilting makes this quilt sing :-) Goes to prove that any fabric in our stash can make a delightful scrappy quilt!

What a great job you did on piecing and quilting! Awesome use of scraps and a great project to get familiar with your new machine.

What a beauty! I do love scrappies. And you're not alone, somehow my quilts always seem to wind up bigger than I'd intended too.

"Piecin' a quilt's like livin' a life...The Lord sends us the pieces, but we can cut 'em out and put 'em together pretty much to suit ourselves, and there's a heap more in the cuttin' and the sewin' than there is in the caliker...I've had a heap of comfort all my life making quilts, and now in my old age I wouldn't take a fortune for them." Love your quilt! I really like your design for the scrappy and the way you quilted it. Good luck with your future quilting. I think you will do wonderfully.
