Default Op-Art Kaleidoscope quilt

I took this class from Maggie Ball at the Des Moines AQS show earlier in the month. I made my 4 blocks into a table runner. I like the way it turned out! I decided to quilt it using circular rulers on my Sweet 16 machine. The quilting isn't perfect, but it is better than my last attempt at using the rulers, and all I ask is that each quilt be a little bit better than the one before it. I am also making coordinating placemats of just the solid, colors, reversible from the gold to the red. Those aren't done yet, but should be all finished well before Thanksgiving.

Very nice, I love those colours. Looks like it was a lot of work but turned out well. Thank you for sharing.

Very pretty and so cheery. I like it. And your quilting looks fine.

The quilting really is great! Using circles against the triangles of the piecing really adds a wow factor.

Avoid job in piecing and quilting. What was the class focus?

The class was on Maggie's technique of kaleidoscope quilts that uses odd cutting angles instead of Y seams. It was designed to not match up which drives my mild case of OCD crazy! The result will be fine, particularly after I wash it. It was a 6 hour class, and I only got two blocks completed and two other blocks about half completed in that time. Careful sewing, pressing, additional sub cutting, and final trimming is required to even get it to this level.
