I like the idea of alternating with and without.

The flower is perfect but maybe smaller? The baskets are adorable and just perfect colors!
Now I have read the whole post and your added view with the little flower and placement is wonderful.

This idea is now on my short list; is that okay?

I like it either way, but if you leave off the applique flower you could quilt the flower into the basket. Very Pretty

I really like the flower, but because it is the same fabrics as the rest of the quilt, I am concerned that if you put all of that work into applique, that it won't show. If you do flowers in random blocks instead of everyone, that might make them pop more.

Your blocks are beautiful and I love anything flowery. That said, I would finish piecing the top with borders first and look at it again. you may find with all the colors in the baskets that the flowers are really kind of lost and all the work of applique and your great piece work will be lost if the overall top is too busy. Remember too you will have quilting too which will fill the now blank spots that are white. I like the idea of putting flowers in the border though I might only cluster a bouquet in one corner or the middle of the bottom border if you cannot stand asymetrical design. Will it be a wall hanging, bed quilt or throw quilt?

I love applique. I think it gives the quilt more character and gives it your own flair. Lowering one flower and adding another flower seems perfect to me. Your color choices are fabulous. Go for it and please post a picture of your finished project!

I think that the applique needs to be smaller. However, I really prefer to have the baskets without the applique. Jeanniebelle
