    The red sashing looked to be to much red. Ok, was in the closet looking for some black, I found Hancock bags full to the top with Christmas fabric. I know I had one bag but not three.

    I would use the solid red as a border around #1 fabric in a simple square in a square block to go with the rest of the embroidery squares, just my first thought.
