Orphan Block into FMQ Cubic Table Mat

Here are some pics of what I did with an orphan block this morning. It measures about 12" across and I plan to use it under a flower pot in the dining room. I used the instructions in one of my OBW books to learn how to do the cube blocks and also have a small quilt hanging on the wall that this block was an experimental piece for

    Hope you like it!

This started as an "orphan" hexagon block I've had pinned up on my wall for awhile. This morning I added the black border, FMQ'd it, and added binding.

Here's a view of the back...

And here it is in its new spot in the dining room.

Wow. The poor plant, if it were in my house. I would never water it.
I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.

Not yet. I've been thinking about doing that so I can track my projects and progress though.

It's just as beautiful looking as the back as the front -- I'd flip it over occasionally for 'a new look' -- stunning!
