Default Owl pin cushion

On the major social media internet place - (I am sure you all know which one I mean) someone posted a picture of some cute owl pin cushions. But to get the pattern you had to buy a back issue of a quilting magazine, the name of which I have forgotten. The only pattern they gave was a template for the body. It looked to me just like the bottom of my iron. So I drew around the sole plate and then shrank it down by 1 inch to make a smaller pattern. Then cut 2 pieces of one fabric and 1 piece of a contrasting one. Sewed them together, starting at the wider bottom end. I cut some batting for the 'eyelashes things (it didn't come out too great but was all I had. - Felt might have worked better). Sewed on two buttons and the batting for each eye and sewed them on. T put a tiny bit of stuffing in the pointy end, folded it over and sewed it shut at the beak. I sewed with orange thread as I didn't have any orange beads for a beak. Cut a larger than the bottom piece of fabric into a triangle shape and sewed it onto one edge of bottom. Then stuffed and then sewed it shut by hand. Not really pretty but not bad for my first try. Next time I will use fabric with more contrast.
