I love birds also and this quilt really speaks to me. It's beautiful. You did an amazing job turning a panel into something wonderful.

Just beautiful. I love the feeling of height it has.

Nine kids? That's great! You're gonna be a favorite with them!

If you study the photo--and number your bird blocks--it'll be easy to do this design. It goes together fast. I'd love to see if you do it!
I too have one of these panels, just couldn't bring myself to cut it and sew it as originally designed. I'd love it is you could share more detail about sizes of strips etc - maybe a tutorial for all? I love what you did with this!

What a beautiful creation! I am simply NOT able to imagine such designs without seeing them first. I have started a flower fairies quilt for our granddaughter and the best I could come up with is "Attic Windows" frames. It is pretty, but this is so unique!

Please share your source for the pannel. I can't wait to try my hand at making one too.

It's by Elizabeth Studios. I tried a search with that and added birds--and it came up.
I'll show the smaller one once I'm finished so folks can see which strip width they like.
