Paper pieced Blocks

I think your work is beautiful. Well done.
Have you seen the book by Jacquie Gering on "Quilt Modern"? I attended a dinner party in the summer where her quilts were spread out on the lawn of a local bed/breakfast inn in Fort Collins, Colorado and the quilts were similar to what you have just finished with your blocks. The style of quilt modern is intriguing, and you might like it. I think that your blocks are so very pretty. Keep going!! Show us the quilt top when you finished it, okay???

For your first attempt, they are awesome. I'm a paperpiecing addict (believe it or not I paperpieced a 9 patch the other day). I hated it with my first couple of attempts--the blocks are in the closet in The Box That Shall Never Be Opened. Now, it's the only way I piece. Keep going--you'll be amazed how each step becomes second nature and really flows as smoothly as regular piecing. Once I get the first 2 pieces on right (which to me is the most difficult) the rest is just sewing pieces on. Great job!!
PrettiPTibbs ... Pretty nice blocks for starters ... imagine what you'll be turning out with practice!! JanRN's got it figured out! And soon you will too. The more you do, the more you'll get your own rhythm and routine and then soon enough you'll be like JanRN .... addicted!
A helpful hint for fabric placement ... I use a set of coloured markers and dab some colour on each section of the PP block to help me keep track of which fabric to add in each spot.

Of all the quilts I have made, paper piecing ( foundation piecing) is one method I have avoided because it looks difficult. I have purchased foundation papers pre printed with designs and they have been in my closet for years!! I love English paper piecing, so maybe your first attempt, which came out beautifully, will prompt me to give it a try! Thanks for posting!
