Getting ready to teach a couple of paper-piecing quilt classes this week at SLC Modern Quilt Guild, and next month at my local guild. My dear daughter loves unicorns and made this one; I pinned and pressed and took pictures... awesome!

Perfect paper piecing, I find it difficult to always get the separate pieces to go together perfectly. Pin and Peek, Pin and Peek-do you have a better way? :)

Beautiful and the sparkly fabric is just the right touch. How big is the block?

Trying pinning and basting. Then open it and if it's not quite right you don't have to unsew the tiny stitches. If it's ok, just stitch right over it with your smaller stitches.

Perfecto!! havent really tried paper piecing yet, but intend on doing so. Do you use a special kind of paper or could one just use regular copier paper. Thank you and good luck with your class.

Many people just use regular copy paper. I use Carol Doak's foundation paper. You can find it on her website, wwwcaroldoak.com

It is about 20 x 20, and she plans to piece some stars for the corners. We enlarged the pattern 200%

    Thanks!
I like to use cheap, thin typing paper, but this one was enlarged at the copy shop, so we made the stitches smaller, and folded the pattern on the lines to make for easier removal.
