My software has the ability to do photos/pics into designs, I haven't quite got it, but I'm working at it. I have been working on a santa for about a month and the trouble I'm having is getting the portions I want in applique and the others with fill. I keep going over it until I get it in the right order and what I it to look like.

Of course Robert its from a book.
I can do any photo with the program I have the key is getting it to not to have a thousand color changes. It sometimes comes out to dark so I kept tweaking it til I got what I wanted. I'm going to do one of my SIL cottage I know that one is going to take a lot of adjustments.

I use the stitch and tear stabilizer and a new product that I found on like called sewline stick glue that dries flexible and will wash out when laundered. It works wonders especially on those appliques that get a nick in it when you are triming it. Just put a little run of the glue stick and Ta Da....its good to go.

Here's another little trick I do for applique too. My old embroidery machind would'nt stitch out with out thread in the needle, but my new machin does. So If it is a difficult design I will put a piece of light weight card stock and stitch it out without thread. So it comes out with just a perforated line, I cut them out and use it for a pattern to cut out the design. Put a little glue on it and away you go, so you don't have to remove the hoop at all. Then I just put them in a baggie for the next time I use it.
It works great.

I love your idea Robert.
The other way I have been doing outlines is I scan it into my computer and open it in photoshop I have a tablet and trace around it save it as a jpeg and open it in my embroidery software. That's how I did the feather for your quilt top.
I can do any of the accuquilt or sizzex dies I have to create a design with it.

Whatever technique's you two are using, Crafty and Robert, you both do wonderful work. I just love seeing what you've come up with. It just keeps getting better and better.
I use the sew-line glue sticks too and find them to be great for PP.
