Default Patchwork pocketed pillows for kids Easter baskets

Picked up a kit at the Manitoba Prairie Quilters Show this weekend. I have been having fun. I used the kit for the first one, and my scraps and stash for the others.

Three down and two to go! I sure hope I can find 14 x 14 pillow forms! I plan to buy kids books on 'the real meaning of Easter' and pop them in the pockets.

Those are darling. If you can't find the 14X14 pillow forms, you can always make your own out of left over batting scraps.

Thank you! And I never thought of making my own. I have lots of batting scraps. I wondered when they might come in handy!

Great idea.

I have made my own pillows by cutting two squares of batting, sewing three sides together; stuff with polyester stuffing until I got the desired fullness and then whip stitching the last edge closed. Works great!

It's wonderful to help kids know the real meaning of Easter since it can get lost in all the goodies that flood our stores at this time.

Very cute! Do a muslin inner pillow case and stuff it with foam chips or polyester fiberfill. Easier to wash and dry than batting pieces.
