    Patriotic Ohio Star Finished

This has to be close to a record for me, from fabric to quilt in a week. It is a lap size, about 30" by 42", and made from leftover fabric from other projects. It is for an Aunt's 80th birthday party and is titled "Who's Counting?". She lives in Ohio, hence the Ohio Stars!

It's been a while since I've done a traditional quilt with all the blocks the same. Putting the two center ones on point settled the devil in me that wanted to add something more. I do wish I had done something other than stippling in the empty spaces, I think an echo might have worked better. I didn't want anything too fancy to detract from the stars. I am very pleased with this perky little quilt!

    Enjoy!

You should be pleased - it is a wonderful quilt. I like the little "spark" you added by turning the center on point...good design thinking.

So the devil made you do it, LOL? Your change in the setting really made the quilt sizzle. Beautiful!

Great idea on the middle section but it looks like it was pretty tricky to do. I kept looking and looking, but can't figure out how you managed that. However, this is one beauty of a quilt and whoever gets it, gets a prize.
