I love your quilt and have it on my to do list. Oh my that list grows daily. LOL You made a spectacular quilt! I love it. On borders...it is yours so do what you like best. Some love no borders while some love borders.

There has been great advice on obtaining scraps. I also like to buy 1/3 yd of certain fabrics that I really like. They get washed and tossed into my scrap basket. That way if you need a 10 inch sq. you can get it from this. I do not hardly ever toss anything out as the smallest pieces can work for applique.

I like it a lot. IMHO, even a strongly colored binding would be a good idea if you don't want to border it.

You are obviously more careful with your buying than I am. I have been quilting for 10+ years. In my current move, I had to give away 12 trash bags of scraps. They all went to other quilters. When I was starting and VERY broke, local quilters gave me a large number of wonderful scraps. Ask around.

My teacher said one thing a border does is "contain" a quilt's pattern, so the eye cdontinues to bounce around the surface like a pinball.

Love it! It is beautiful. Add borders if you want, but don't feel like you have to. You are the artist. :-)

I love scrappy and your's is very nice....My Joanne's will cut 3 inches or 4 inches (I am doing a project that requires 20 different greens...only 3 inches wide)...
They told me that they would cut 1 inch if that is what I wanted....
Love your quilt....great job!!

WOW - gorgeous! I would buy fat eighth's. Or if fat quarters are all you can find maybe go in with your friend and split the fat quarters and the cost.

Beautiful quilt!
Scraps are an addiction of mine lol I buy scrap boxes off of etsy ,ebay and here as well. I also look for cotton cloths at yard sales and thrift stores and cut them up. Some of the members here offer awesome scrap boxes for sale from time to time, keep an eye out for them.most of all have fun with your new obsession;)
