Four years after attending a workshop given by Tammie Bowser in Puyallup, Washington at SewExpo, I finally finished this quilt. It was taken from a photo of my Sheltie, Fraser. It took 24 different fabrics and 2250 one and a quarter inch pieces. It isn't as difficult as it looks, Tammie sells a computer program that pixilates a photo. The rest is as easy as paint by number. I couldn't bear to quilt it myself, so a friend did it for me. When I was putting it together, I couldn't see the big picture, but when I saw it from across the room, I was surprised to see the image! The ribbons are from a local quilt walk. It won first place Art and first place viewer's choice. I was on cloud 9! (Huge ribbons!)

Oh my goodness - that looks like my Sheltie, Lil' Mister. You did a beautiful job and certainly deserve recognition.

Can you use this program for people also? Can you tell me more about it?

Yes, you can use photos of people too. In fact, Tammie Bowser started with a photo of her baby. Here is a description of how it is done.
