Just the front and back. I thought it was plenty heavy with the denim, plus, the idea of quilting over the seams made no batting an easy decision. lol I didn't really want to tie it. When I posted the thoughts on a fb group, one person suggested tacking--and I loved the idea! Then I could pick seamless place to put them. I thought about pretty stitches, but went with this fancy zigzag instead. Holds it together perfectly. I also top stitched around the outside for a pretend binding. :-)

What a great picnic quilt! It will definitely hold up to getting spread out on sand, grass, etc with the denim back! Making quilts out of vintage table clothes and table linens is all the rage now. Cindy Needham does a bunch!

I did something that is a rage right now??? Cool. I'm usually at least 3 years behind those. lol
