They are both beautiful! I would also love to know the name of the pattern.

059 The pattern for this quilt came from Quilter's Newsletter Feb/March 2009. This one was a favorite when I posted it last time.

The pattern comes from a very old quilt. I got the pattern by tracing a block on interfacing. I call it Stars and Diamonds. My Mother said it is a string quilt. I am not sure........I thought a string quilt was made with irregular pieces and this one has very specific pieces. It can only be cut / sewn one way. There is not a pattern with instructions......So if this appeals to you.....then you are going to have to wing it, with what I have learned by doing a whole quilt and then preparing to teach it at my LQS. If you are interested, Please send me a pm.

She is on this board. She sent me a pm requesting the pattern. She is wonderful to visit with. Her board name is "Phyllis 81 yrs in Oregon". Visit with her she is really nice. I made the red/green one and my friend, Patty, found the top. Patty's friend in Wharton told her she could not save it, but Patty did not listen and it is just beautiful. I have my top at my Mother's in line to be hand quilted. I will post pics when Mother is done with it. I am teaching the pattern at my LQS.
