Oh my gosh. You did a beautiful job and the handwork is lovely. Good for you for honoring all the hand embroidery by not using your machine. These humble, beautiful works of art are to be seen and admired and you will do that now. What a great idea and execution!

I had two pillowcases that weren't as white as the others. It helped to use the back of them both for parts of their blocks as it seemed whiter there (perhaps because they were folded/stored and that helped protect the backs). I really noticed the colour difference between those two blocks and the others before I did the quilting but now I don't notice any differences. The quilting made all the difference! I asked family friends to tell me which blocks looked a different white and they couldn't see any difference. Maybe they're polite but I don't notice the difference either. LOL!

What a great way to preserve those hand embroidered pillowcases. The ones I have that my Mom made haven't held up well with all the use they got, but they are still a treasure.

Thank you all so much! The people on this board are so supportive! I know I love looking at everyone's wonderful creations but need to spend more time giving feedback to others. Your kind words mean so much! And it's so inspiring to look through all the pictures - we can get so many great ideas from each other. I wish this quilt was my idea but no, I'm a copycat. I'm just so very grateful to have seen a pillowcase quilt that got me started on my project.

Thank you! The white pillowcase part is 18" square made of three sections from a pillowcase.
