Now I have about 3 other friends who want to be my "sister"
Stuffed the jacket in the bag and mailed it off to her yesterday, hope she likes it as much as I did. The pattern came from a local quilt shop

Hi there SIster, I'll be watching for mine in the mail too. Have to say I love those b/w's and the jacket is stunning. I love it. I am going to have to try one of those sweatshirt jackets soon too, they look fun. And winter will be here soon. ONly trouble is here in TExas it doesn't get cold enough for me to wear one like that more than a couple of months. Thanks for sharing. And no wonder you have so many sisters.:):)

Yes bought a $13.00 sweatshirt (hooded, zipper, and front pockets)at Walmart. Per pattern I cut it apart and laid it on the pieced together fabrics and cut around the sweatshirt pieces, then sewed it all back together again. Bound the edges, just like a quilt. The zipper wasn't in the pattern I had, but I decided to try to keep it in this jacket since it came that way. I think it looks fine. Didn't use the pockets, cuffs, and hood material that was on the original sweatshirt. I was supposed to use a sweatshirt and cut up the front, for the front of the jacket then put on "frog" type tabs for buttons. The blocks could be done in a straight line, like shown or turned on "point" or bias for a different look. Next one for me will be "on point".
