Wonderful pincushions! I collect them, but don't have any of these.. guess I'd better get busy and make some, too..

Those are so cute! Do you use two layers of material when you make them? I made a couple pincushions, used the crushed walnut shells, turned out very cute, but seemed rather thin. I thought maybe I was suppose to layer the material. Any suggestions?

I only used 1 layer of fabric and then used 1 layer of warm & natural. On the tapestry ones I used a fusible pellon and ironed it on. I just used some polyester craft batting for the stuffing. I'm going to try one with the crushed walnut shells. I have a log cabin chicken that a friend made me and she only used the walnut shells and didn't fill it up to the top.
