    Pine Cone Quilt

This was a first time quilter who won a ribbon for her piecing and I won the Professional quilter ribbon... She was one of my students learning to quilt... she has an eye for colors and we always do the Quilt in a Day log cabin. She had fabric that had a gold thread in it so I had to quilt it using gold metallic thread.... Was fun...

She does have great color but those pin cones in the quilting add just the right touch to those colors and really make the quilt.

Pine cones and long needles, what better enhancement could be had for a lovely quilt? I'll never be that good at piecing or quilting, but can sure admire what talented people can do.

Totally AWESOME. Both the quilting and piecing are impressive. It's mind boggling to win a ribbon on your very first quilt. Wow. I can't wait to see what is next.
