Great use of the spare blocks. I do that too and it makes a wonderful addition to the back. Love the colors too.

I love using extra blocks in the backs of my quilts. It solves the problem of width and leftovers of fabric that are too big for scraps but not big enough for a project. If I end up with one or two additional blocks, I stack them in a med. size pizza box and will put them on the front of a solid color tote bag to use for gift giving (cheaper and better than gift wrap!)

Has anyone ever done a D9P in Batik? I have some batik fabric and wanted to see what it would look like to do the D9P. Possibly for a baby Quilt..?
