Several people asked about the quilting. I did quilt this on my regular sewing machine. I used 100% mercerized cotton - 40/3ply, machine quilting thread made by YLI. The color was "Great Barrier Reef"#V91, by Luana Rubin. It is a nice thick variegated thread that really shows up well. So, if you want to showcase your quilting it is a good one to use. More recently I've been using Aurofil 50 wt. I love the way it kind of disappears into the quilt. Aurofil is great for piecing too. I have a new Bernina, and it was suggested that I use only Aurofil. Wow, that is expensive thread!
