I finished these two quilts for my grandchildren a while ago. They were in progress for a long time before they were finally completed. Originally the kids were sharing a room and the theme was Peter Pan, which could incorporate pirates for boys and fairies for girls. Each had their own room by the time I got these done but at least they were young enough that they still like pirates and fairies!

Both quilts started with panels, and for both I planned the images to fall directionally over the sides of the mattress. So they don't look as good looking at them straight-on but they work well on the beds. My SIL quilted them for me, using waves for the pirate quilt and leaves for fairies. The fairy fabric is from Michael Miller Flower Fairies. I also decoupaged a lampshade with Flower Fairy fabric.

They're beautiful. I'm working on a pirate quilt at the moment but somehow I don't think its going to look so good as your one.
