Finally finished the binding by machine using a decorative stitch yesterday and then handstitched the quilt label on the backside. Been working outside most of the summer so this quilt has been waiting for the binding to be added for a couple months. Made her a pillowcase using an appliqued embroidery design and then a stuffed pillow to go on her bed. All fabrics from my stash and the backing is pieced fabrics used as the background on the front. Because I thought I needed to get it finished quickly back when I went to quilt it I decided to do a E2E instead of custom which probably would have made me nuts anyway. Now to ship it to the little girl named Rosie that loves roses......pinks and purples. The dark purple on the quilt and pillowcase cuff looks black but its not.
Found this pattern this past summer free online but can't remember where now. Short term memory here. Little girl lives in Florida and has a tough life for someone so young so hopefully this will cheer her up. I'll probably never meet her but that doesn't matter to me, just want to bring some happiness to others.

Wonderful. I am sure that you accomplished your mission. What little girl would not love a pillow case with her name. Beautiful Rose pillow. Thank you for doing this. Pray better days are to come to this sweetheart. BrendaK
