I've finally finished the 2 yards of play mat got it all bound and even wrote my first label by hand. Not the prettiest, but it says what it needs I guess.

    AWWW......

Great quilt! I am sure your grandchildren are going to love it and have many hours of fun.

Love your cockatoo as well. We have a lesser sulfer crested cockatoo named Molly. We love her to bits!

what a smart idea...if you keep it at your house it will be a special play time mat...and I bet it will get plenty of use.

Thank you all. That is my version of the quilt police. He's an only FID (feathered kid)at this point. He likes the scraps I cut off to preen. The longer pieces, the better. I give him the long run of trimmed cotton when I finish a quilt & he'll play happily with that for weeks.

They live 1500 miles north of us. That wouldn't work for us, but if we could deal with the weather up there it would be a neat idea!

Thank you! I did that one the hard way, but was told an easier way now and will try that way next time.

Your grandsons will have lots of fun with that quilt. Do they have matchbox cars?

I love your play mat. It looks like lots of fun. I love your bird too. I have a blue and gold macaw and an African Gray. They are so much fun.

DH used to have a B&G Macaw. He was quite a character! We had to find him a new home unfortunately & miss him terribly. It wasn't until after he left we found out the reason for the aggression was my greenwing was in season. Then she got eggbound, spent 4 days with a vet & passed away. She was our comic relief & is greatly missed. She would have been a beaks on quilt police. She used to preen the fake fur while I was cutting/sewing teddy bears.
